It feels like I just got back from New Orleans Comic Con (which was a blast, by the way)… and now I’m turning around and going to another show! The Image Expo is Friday-Sunday, February 24-26 at the Oakland Convention Center. I’ll be tabling all weekend at the show, sharing Booth #70 with my good buddies Joe Keatinge (Glory, Hell Yeah) and Joshua Williamson (Xenoholics, Voodoo). I’ll have copies of Witch Doctor Vol. 1 to sell, and possibly copies of Witch Doctor: The Resuscitation and Witch Doctor #2 (because I learned at New Orleans Comic Con that that’s the issue a lot of people were never able to find).
In addition to that, I’m on two panels, both on Sunday:
12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Image Introduces…
Some of Image Comics’ most exciting new creators assemble to talk about their new work and life as independent comics creators. Join the creators of Moriarty, Li’l Depressed Boy, Hell Yeah!, Witch Doctor, Peter Panzerfaust, and Skullkickers for an eye-opening conversation about what it’s really like to work in comics.
Panelists: Daniel Corey, Sina Grace, Joe Keatinge, Brandon Seifert, Kurtis Wiebe, Steven Struble, and Jim Zubkavich

I’ve said it already, but I have to repeat it: I’m super excited for the Expo. I love the idea of an entire convention devoted exclusively to creator-owned comics, and I love that Image are the ones hosting it — they’re the industry standard-bearer for creator-owned books, and they’ve been having a bunch of banner years recently, raising the bar for the rest of the industry with the books they put out. It’s been really amazing for me to be a part of it, and I think this show is going to rock.
(Plus it’s an excuse to spend a week in San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area. And we are not made of stone.)
